Celebrating and Preserving our History

February was black history month and we celebrated our ancestor’s achievements and struggles to overcome the effects of prejudice both overt and subtle. Now, we need to ask this question:  is our history being preserved? Not just  the big events such as the speeches and photos and home movies during the Civil Rights Movement; but the small everyday things such as going to the grocery store, where we buried our deceased family members, and where we worked everyday.
