Steamy Summer Reads Alert!!!!!- Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James

Straight off the New York Times bestseller list comes Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James. The first book in this page turner trilogy begins the love story of Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey. The story begins with Anastasia Steel helping a sick friend by interviewing a young up and coming entrepreneur by the name of Christian Grey. This chance meeting begins a relationship that will change both Anastasia and Christians life. Young naive Ana is intrigued and yet frightened by Christians power, beauty and his erotic lifestyle but can she handle everything Christian wants in a relationship or are his desires to much for her to handle?

Fifty Shades of Grey what can I say about this book……the story was interesting and intriguing. Usually when books are really long I become bored towards the end or they seem to drag not so with this story it held my attention from beginning to end. I was a little skeptical when I first picked up this novel, I don’t like to read erotic fiction because it doesn’t do anything for me and I find myself skipping through most of the book but this book was well written and tastefully done (as far as erotic fiction goes lol).

Our protagonist is Anastasia Steel is a young inexperienced women who has never been in a relationship or has even had sex. Anastasia meets Christian Grey who is a young CEO of his own company. Christian is a complex character that from the very beginning of the story seems to be hiding a dark secret. Because of Christians complex nature you love to hate him he is the ultimate bad boy who has a strong desire to inflict pain on others but still seems vulnerable at the same time. Although this is a love story it is a very dark and possible disturbing kind of love story definitely not PG13. While Ana is interested in Christian they both want different things and that is were the problem begins.

This book reminds me of Twilight (minus the vampires ) for adults. Both stories take place in Seattle and the male leads are very similar. It turns out that the author E,L. James got her start writing fan fiction for Twilight so that explains the similarities. As a Twilight fan I can honestly say if you enjoyed Twilight then you will definitely enjoy Fifty Shades of Grey.

I hope you enjoyed my review of Fifty Shades of Grey if you have any suggestions of books that I should read and review or if you had a different outtake on the book altogether please don’t hesitate to send me an email at joi@sistersspace.com or post on the discussion board below I look forward to hearing from you untill then keep reading.
