So Natural, So Spiritual…

Sometimes the decisions we make have more meaning than for the natural realm, there is spiritual significance to a lot of our choices as well, like my going natural for instance. It was more than just a hair styling decision, it was a total lifestyle choice. It proved to be a choice that involves my ability to reach out to others as well.

Going natural (2 months) has been so liberating of an experience with the most beautiful lesson I’ve learned being that each process I go through on the journey is unique. For example my hair may be curly like my sisters, yet I have to use a different product, or another natural sister may keep braids or sew-ins throughout her journey and I chose not to. This doesn’t mean that I’m any more natural than she is. And so it is in our love walk as sisters in Christ; I may have the same gift as you yet flow differently. I love this aspect of the process because it allows each individual to find themselves and well, I’m elated to say I am finding me!
It’s more than hair, it’s a lifestyle. We were all born into sin, yet once we began to look into the mirror (Word of God) we began to see who we are, and why we are and then we began to flow into the process of living out our destiny. I am not saying find different ways to use your gift but I am saying we must learn to appreciate each other’s perfectly unique qualities. It’s easier to do such once you realize the place of your value is in Christ. One of the greatest lessons learned in the love walk as in the natural lifestyle is that I cannot do it alone. I need my fellow sisters who are learning with me or have been in my position before.

Just as I have to seek knowledge about my hair, I have to seek knowledge through the word of God in order to continue down the correct path. I don’t know all about being natural or do I about serving Christ and I’ve e learned how to seek help. The bible tells us in Ephesians 4:2 to be completely humble and gentle; bearing with one another in love. Let’s not forsake our love walk by allowing the lies of loneliness and stubbornness to keep us isolated from the body of Christ, but allow the truth of love to unite us together.

Unfortunately you can’t do a big chop for mistrust, self hatred or anger, but you can pray, you can fast and you can most defiantly make up in your mind to go through the process of healing. Because the word of God tells us in Ephesians 2:10; For we are Gods handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. This means we can’t sit in the place of unforgiveness and regret, expecting to still move forward. Live your life for Christ, trusting Him to guide you through your processes and remember you have a family of believers who support you. I love you and so does Christ.
