By HIS Grace

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: (1 Peter 2:9 KJV)

That word peculiar means strange and uncommon. It is used in this scripture to remind every believer that we are in the world but not of this world. Though so many us try the world as a sidebar to the righteous path, we are not of this world. The Word clearly states that anyone in Christ is a new creation. That is what took us out of this world!

So with obvious confusion we experience an identity crisis daily. Really, it is a moment by moment relationship. Everyday there is constant battle of focus. For now let’s address:

– who are you looking at?

– who has your attention?

– who influences your actions, your decisions?

– what are you looking at?

– what has become most important?

– can you easily identify when you are off track?

These two questions along with their sub categories boil down too…who are you walking with?. Believe it not, we all get off track in this life of Christianity. That’s not alarming at all. It is when we are far removed from The Lord to continue our core alone with self effort.

This world teaches, studies, and practices self made ways. In the body of Christ Jesus, we are to teach, study, and practice Jesus…and everything else will be added.

So what does grace have to do with it? Grace is Jesus because it is the anointing. Christ simply means the anointed one so in essence He is our anointing, He is our grace.

So instead of looking to worldly people for direction, look at Jesus. So instead of looking at circumstances, cleaving to them like locust…cleave to the promises of the Word. The Word is Jesus as well (ref. St. John 1). Don’t get your focus off of Jesus. He answers all things.

Have a blessed one…
